Looks are important and on your wedding day it is no exception.  Photo booth of the stars knows how important it is to look and feel your best on you big day and that is why we decided to do some research from the experts and get the best tips for looking your best on your big day!

It’s Prime Time!

Use a primer!  For those of you who don’t know what a primer is or have never used one, think of it like a paint primer.  Before you paint your walls or furniture you prime it.  Priming creates a nice, even, protective base coat for your walls to then be painted the color you have selected.  Same goes for face primer.  It fills in any pores and makes the skin a smooth even surface; it will also keep you foundation in place the entire day!

Conceal It!

Odds are you might be a little anxious the night before your walk down the aisle so cover up those dark circles with concealed.  If you were crying the evening prior hearing stories and well wishes from loved ones at the rehearsal dinner your eyes may be a bit puffy.  Before you head to bed throw 2 metal spoons in the freezer.  Once you wake up, place one spoon over each eye while the coffee is brewing to get rid of that puffiness.

Powder It!

Using a powder over your foundation and concealer will help to lock everything in.  It will also help if you have oily skin so you do not look shiny in all of your photographs that you are investing in.  Your foundation and powder should be the same shade and you only need to lightly dust all over your face to lock everything in.  Less is more with powder, especially if you are touching up throughout the day.  If you use the same shade and lightly dust this will ensure you do not create the horrible caked on foundation look that no bride wants.

Shadow It!

Use a light eye shadow all over the lid up into your brow bone.  Light does not mean white, try to find a more natural creamy, light tan, base.  The shadow should be lighter than you skin tone so it will stand out, but not WHITE where it looks un-natural and takes you back to the 80’s – unless that is the look you are going for.

Blend It!

Blending is the key to good make-up and you have to be patient with it.  Do it well and all over.  Pay special attention to the corner of your eyes where the shadows tend to build up.  This happens frequently when using any shades of eye shadow but more so if you are doing a smoky eye look.  Also, professional quality cameras are very good at picking up visible makeup lines so be sure to be cognizant of blending.

Water-Proof It!

Tears will be shed!  Be prepared by using one coat of your favorite mascara and using water-proof mascara on the second coat.  This will lock in your mascara so your tears will not wash it away and make a mess of your whole face.  If you use waterproof mascara in your daily life then just use two coats of it for your special day.  If you are wearing false lashes, remember to put the lashes on first before your mascara.

 Line It!

If you are going all out dramatic with your eye makeup then keep your lips soft and subtle.  Good rule of thumb is either eye or lip can be dramatic – not both.  Even on your wedding day!  That’s not to say you can’t wear lipstick by any means.  Line your lips with a lip-liner that matches the shade of your lips and blend with a cotton ball to eliminate bleeding.  Once blended apply a soft shade of lipstick or lip-gloss to cover the liner.

There are many tips and tricks to looking your best on your wedding day and there are certainly plenty of products to purchase.  The best advice to keep you photo booth and wedding day ready is stick with what you know.  Do not try a new product the day of.  Only use products you are familiar with and know look fabulous.  Be sure to schedule a trial run with your hair and makeup artist so you achieve the look you envision and also see how long it will take to create this look for planning.  Follow these tips from Photo Booth of the Stars and you are sure to be flawless in all of your photos!

Photo Booth Game Day Fun!

Both photo booth rentals and football season are in full swing!  Football games are always a great reason to do some entertaining!  The guys keep busy watching the game allowing the women to mingle and chat among one another.  Of course good food and snacks are a must for any joyous occasion.  Photo booth of the stars would like to share some really fun football theme ideas to give you a little inspiration for tonight’s game or your next party!

Football is such a fun theme that you can really go all out with and one everyone can relate too which makes for a fun occasion for kids and adults.  It’s also a great entertaining opportunity since there are so many no-fuss options for drinks and snacks which allows you to throw together all the goodies in a snap.  So let’s start with drinks.  A lot of men like to drink beer during football and sporting events, it is a staple.  So why not have some fun with the kids beverages and the other adults?

Photo booth of the stars likes to make everything fun and festive!  For the kiddos make it special for them so the get involved in the game too!  Aesthetics is everything so they have something interesting to look at when not watching the game.  Pick up some mini water or soda.  There is always something so intriguing about those little bottles that just make it seem so special.  Have you ever drank that $6 mini bottle of water at the hotel because it just seemed too appealing?  Give the kids something to make them feel special.  Get the mini cans of pop, or even better the classic pop bottles if you have them at your reach.  Kids love these too!

Emmy Award Parties!

The Emmy’s are here!

 Neil Patrick Harris, Emmy's Host

In case you haven’t heard, the 65th Emmy awards are happening this Sunday at 7c on CBS.  This year will be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris and will honor the 50th anniversary of 1963 television milestones.  It will include television’s role in two major events, including the assassination coverage of President John F. Kennedy in 1963, and the performance by the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show in 1964.

Why not host an Emmy awards viewing party with your friends?  There is always an excuse to throw a great party, and this is no exception!  Who doesn’t enjoy watching the red carpet looks, and critiquing all of the celebs?

Invite the girls over for a comfy, relaxing, lounging, night in.  Guests could show up in pj’s or lounge attire and everyone can sit around and gossip and try to guess who will win.  Get some cheese and crackers and enjoy some wine then order some great take out for an easy breezy party.  Everyone loves a pajama party no matter what age you are, and since the awards are on a Sunday evening this is a great recipe for some fun.

Another idea is pick a favorite or popular show and everyone can dress up as characters from it.  Make some fun signature drinks to keep everything festive!  Shape has listed 11 TV show-inspired cocktails that look amazing and I can’t wait to try them all!  They came up with an Over 30 Rocks cocktail that sounds amazing.  Here’s the recipe:

Emmys Parties, TV show inspired cocktails

2 ounces Ron Abuelo Anejo

Juice from ½ a lime

1 teaspoon maraschino liquer

1 teaspoon grapefruit juice

1 maraschino cherry, for garnish

All you do is shake the first four ingredients with ice, then strain over crushed ice in a rocks glass.  Garnish with the cherry.  I don’t know about you, but in the steamy sauna heat wave we are having today in Illinois, this sounds pretty refreshing to me!

They also have recipes for the Kimmel and juice, The Desperate Housewife, Boardwalk thief, and more.  They also have a list of Emmy inspired low calorie drink options on there as well.  Here is the link where you can find all of the delicious recipes that are sure to get your vote.

You could also go formal and everyone comes in their red carpet attire.  Have champagne served and some delicious hors d’oeuvres.  The menu needs to be killer if you decide to go formal.  Leg of lamb, lobster, crab, could all be good considerations.  Here’s what the attendants at this years Emmy’s will be indulging in Sunday.

First course:

Gem lettuce salad, made with basil-scented mozzarella, marinated heirloom tomatoes, heirloom beats, crisp basil and extra virgin olive oil.

Main Course:

Filet mignon, red wine-braised short rib, potato tart stuffed with D’Anhou pear and fresh asparagus in red wine sauce.

A spin off of black forest cake, featuring a creamy, sour, pudding chocolate cake sprayed with chocolate velvet and topped with devils food cake, roasted cherries, cherry tapioca and mascarpone cream.

Vodka-based cocktail with juiced cucumber, St. Germain liqueur and lime juice and garnished with cucumber and rosemary.

This will be prepared by over 200 of the best chefs and the theme of this extravagant dinner is “enchanted forest.”  Is your mouth watering yet?

Hope you enjoy watching the awards and no matter what, whether you throw a party of 10 and up, or if it is just a party of 2, have fun with it!  You don’t have to spend a lot of time or money to make it a fun and special occasion.  I hope reading this will give you a little inspiration and help you end your weekend with a night to remember.
