Spring Party Inspiration

Spring brings us beautiful life and color that emerges right before the depths of summers beauty and outdoor activities can fully begin.  If you are planning a spring party we have all the inspiration you need to plan your party from start to finish.  Even if you aren’t thinking of planning a party these ideas will have you feeling cheerful and happy and may just inspire you to throw a soiree.

Hosting a bridal shower?  We love these invitations from plpapers Etsy store.  There are some other really amazing designs you can pick up there as well.  It is a digital printable package that comes with the invitations, shower recipe cards, thank you cards, and even thank you tags.  We can’t get enough of these beauties.

This bachelorette party invites coral and teal design is so festive for spring and summer from elevenONEdesigns Etsy store.  It’s amazing the inspiration you can find on Etsy.  There are some truly gifted creative individuals and it’s so wonderful to have them all in one place to shop from.

This 3 year old’s party was fully inspired by spring time colors of soft yellows, greens, and pinks.  So adorable.  The candy holder “fruit baskets” have us itching to head out to a farmers market or local fruit or vegetable stand.  Thanks Nice Party for sharing this delightful setup!

Does this Fruit and Veggie food bar via the knot have you feeling fresh and ready for summer?

This dessert table is perfect for spring!  They used real grass table runners and the pastel color palette is perfect for spring!  How perfect is the upside down umbrella for a unique focal piece?  Paige of Paiges of Style hosted this “Sprinkle” for a friend’s second baby, but this would be a fabulous design for any spring occasion and be sure to provide extra umbrellas for guests to use as photo booth props.

This idea to use flower pots for silverware holders is from Party Frosting.  You can just write the names of the items each pot is containing with chalkboard paint marker so you can wash it off and re-use them after the party ends.  Fill the pots up with your photo booth props as well for an extra pop of the theme.

This picture from Pinterest proves that your décor doesn’t have to cost a fortune or take hours to set up to give you that WOW factor!  This is such a simple idea to tie ribbons in your color palette to the chair backs and makes such a bold impact.  Low cost, low labor, huge impact.  It’s perfection!

Let your guests wet their whistles and loosen up for their fun in the photo booth with this Mint Fresh Arnold Palmer recipe from Tablespoon.

Or this fresh and tangy Ginger Lemonade that looks as good as it tastes and is simple to make and since it has to be chilled at least one hour prior to serving it is the perfect cocktail to make ahead.

The recipe provided is for 20 servings but we have a feeling you will want to double, if not triple this for your spring party!

We will leave you with this recipe we also got at Tablespoon for Pink Lemonade Jello Shots. Enjoy responsibly and CHEERS!!

Some of the best Photo Booth Backdrops!

Photo booth rentals are a key ingredient to any event or celebration and they can be transformed into so many different styles.  We wanted to kick this week off with some of our top photo booth backdrops we have seen across the World Wide Web.

This incredible photo booth backdrop was made by the bride’s dad using 8ft x 8ft plywood!  Amber over at Averie Lane panted the plywood matte black and then traced on all of the wording using her projector.  What a touching impact this back drop makes and it is excellent for DIY brides as well as for any event.

This backdrop could be customized for a variety of events.  At a corporate event you could list the name of sponsors, companies being hosted or honored, award winners, and so much more.  Wouldn’t it be fun for a high school prom to have a list of trending topics or what’s hot today for the teens to reflect upon years later?  We could think of so many places where this back drop would be a fun touch and meaningful as well.

We adore this impromptu photo back drop we found on Tina Gray dot Me which could be used inside your photo booth rental or as a festive backdrop throughout your wedding reception, anniversary party or any event.  We could totally see a candy buffet, or sweets table set up in front of this fantastic backdrop.  It is so cheerful and inviting and really sets a tone for a party!

It would be an extremely simple, yet time consuming DIY for your décor.  Simply tie a rope from one tree to the other, then knot fabric, ribbon, or streamers from the rope.  This will take quite a bit of time to complete so don’t expect it to be done in five minutes.

Go green with succulents like the bride who spent a year growing these for her wedding ceremony back drop!  Wow!  They then replanted them shortly after so nothing went to waste.  We came across this stunning backdrop at Weddings Illustrated where you can see other ideas for using succulents for your wedding as well if you are interested.

While we were there, we also spotted this simple and sweet heart backdrop which is the perfect fit for any lovebirds getting married.  This makes the photo booth even more interactive for your guests by providing them with large blank sheets of paper and paint and they can paint their own backdrops.

We are all for anything that helps hold a child’s attention at a party and we simply love this idea!  Thanks weddings illustrated!  If you are stressing the mess, they also suggested offering several pre-painted backdrops which would solve the problem.

Speaking of the kiddos, we had to share this next backdrop from Catch My Party that was used for a Sesame Street themed first birthday.  What little one wouldn’t love this awesome backdrop at their birthday celebration?

We can’t decide which one of these is our favorite!  They are all so fun and festive.  Stay tuned for more!

Pour on the green beer!  Saint Patrick’s Day is almost here!  Head on over to The Party Project and get there free St. Patrick’s Day printable photo booth props so you are ready to celebrate in style on Monday.

If you have a handy cutting machine then be sure to pop on over to Lia Griffith and score yourself her free SVG party décor and photo booth props files.

Your guests will have so much fun getting silly and festive with these photo booth props and will make your photo strip favors really pop!  For the rest of the party space you can choose your décor any way you want.  Whether you want to go over the top with green everywhere, or just incorporate subtle hints of green throughout your venue or house party it’s up to you.

A subtle way to bring on the green is by using out door elements indoors.  For those of you florists or if you have a green thumb little pots of planted green herbs are great ways to introduce the green theme to your party without being over the top.

One of the best ways to decorate is to shop at your home.  Look around and use what you already have.  You’d be surprised what you can do with a little creativity.  Take those white or neutral colored candles or vases you have laying around the house and wrap a festive green bow around it.  No need to go out and buy a bunch of new green décor.  Just use what you have and incorporate different festive elements to it.

Guiness, Baileys, and green beer are true St. Patrick ’s Day cocktail staples.  Here are just a few cocktails you can enjoy at your cocktail hour.

Ever heard of One Irland?

–        4 parts irish whiskey

–        1 part green crème de menthe

–        Small scoop vanilla ice cream

Put all of the ingredients into a blender, blend until smooth and then serve it up in a martini glass.  MMm!  Sounds delish!

We found this fancy cocktail at Cosmopolitan and it is claimed to be one of the best cocktails to sip on St. Patrick’s day.

2 oz. Pinot Grigio

4 cucumber chunks

5 mint leaves

¾ oz. lime juice

¾ oz. simple syrup

1 oz. soda water

3 mint sprigs and a cucumber slice for garnish

Sounds refreshingly delicious and a must have at your event!

For the adults check out these Irish Cream Fudge Cupcakes from Sprinkle Bakes.  What could be more festive?

Don’t forget about the kiddos.

These little leprechaun hats from Hostess With the Mostess will certainly have you feeling the luck of the Irish at your festivities this Monday.   These adorable treats are made using chocolate and marshmallows with a fudge stripe cookie as a base.  Better make extra because these will surely go quick at your party!

Happy St. Patricks Day to you from the Photo Booth of the Stars!

Tips To A Stress Free First Birthday Party

Your baby is turning one and you have all managed to make it through the first year!  This calls for a celebration, and you know Photo Booth of the Stars loves a reason to throw a party.  Since it is a first birthday it definitely needs to be special, but let’s face it the party will be more for you since your baby won’t remember the actual event itself but it’s going to generate some amazing photos and should be a day enjoyed by everyone.

The first thing you should consider is the venue.  If your baby is more comfortable staying home and you have the room to host a party there by all means have it at your home.  If not there are many great spots for a 1st birthday to be held.  For instance a community center, children’s museum, or even the zoo are all great choices.

Once you have the venue locked in it is time to think about the theme.  Hosting a themed party truly makes for some fun and amazing pictures that you will get to cherish forever.

Everyone knows and loves the cute vintage sock monkey with it’s playful yet sophisticated colors this theme can give a warm retro feel and is so inviting for children while being euphoric for adults just as a photo booth rental is at events.  The sock monkey enables you to have a snazzy theme and doesn’t limit you to any specific color choices in décor.

Styling and Photography: Spaceships and Laser Beams

You have all got to see this Alligator Bayou Bash from Karas Party Ideas.   What a unique idea and the little frog fondant toppers on the cheesecake are just too cute!  Can you imagine the kids bouncing off of the tables after eating a few of those!  So fun!  Head on over to see all of the pictures from this one of a kind Bayou Bash.

With your venue solidified and your theme in place now it is time to schedule your photo booth rental and hire on a good photographer that is experienced with children.  Make sure to be clear with what shots are the most important to you for them to capture.  You don’t need to be stuck behind the camera the entire party, you need to be in on the fun and inside the photo booth posing for pictures with your baby and some fun photo props!

Time for the menu!  If you are having the food catered be sure there are no peanuts in case any guests have an allergy, or have them specify on the rsvp’s so there will be no worries.  A 1st birthday is a great time for a luncheon party.  You will want to limit the time of the event to 2 hours or under since a one year old is pretty unpredictable and won’t typically withstand being social for more than 2 hours.  Some simple sandwiches, salads, bite sized cakes or other treats are sufficient.  Be sure to avoid any choking hazards and have some baby friendly options available.

Happy planning and Happy 1st Birthday to you and your little ones!

What People Are Saying About Photo Booths

Everyone knows, photo booth rentals are all of the buzz.  They are everywhere including weddings, award shows and red carpets, bar mitzvahs, corporate events, and you name it!  They are such a fun experience and add such a festive element. You don’t have to take our word for it, obviously we are a little bias so here’s what people are saying about photo booths.

“One of the main reasons I pushed for a photo booth was to provide an alternative to dancing.  We have a lot of friends and family that aren’t big on dancing, so we thought a photo booth might keep them entertained at the reception a little longer.  Our plan sure worked!  We received hundreds of pictures from the photo booth.

The photo booth provided entertainment for those who did not want to partake in the dancing and it was also nice for people who were dancing to the dj to have a place to go to take a little break from dancing.  All in all I have absolutely no regrets about renting our photo booth and I would highly recommend one for any event.  It was a blast! “

“We had a gorgeous candy buffet for my daughter’s sweet 16 party, and I can honestly say there is only one thing her and her guests enjoyed more…the photo booth.  There was not one minute the booth was not in use and it wasn’t just the kids either!  I was shocked that people in their 40’s, 50’s, and even 60’s were taking pictures.

The props added so much fun to the photos and really helped people to loosen up a bit.  We had fake mustaches and funny glasses that my daughter and her friends picked up at various stores throughout the months before the party.  The photo booth was such a hit that we are including one this July for our family reunion.”

“Our corporate party had 3 photo booths and they were such a hit!  Everyone loved stepping into the booth with their carefully selected photo booth props and let their personalities shine for the camera.  Seriously, the corporate event photo booth allowed each guest to come out of their shell and get festive and let their guard down.  You know how awkward company events can be, this really helped break the ice right off the bat and allowed everyone to bond and have some fun.

From a business standpoint it was cost effective to have the entertainment provided in addition to the branded souvenir guests were able to take home.  The designer worked very closely with our organization to create the perfect branded layout that reflected our company style and featured our logo, website, and contact info.  It was a complete success.”

It seems no matter what the celebration a photo booth is a must have and adored by everyone.  Contact us today to secure your photo booth rental for your next event.  We have a variety of packages and options to choose from and will work with you to select the best fit for your needs. 815-975-8762

It’s a Mardi Gras Party!

It’s time again for some Mardi Gras Madness so let’s party with Photo Booth of the Stars!

Mardi Gras party masks are the perfect prop for your photo booth rentals or DIY photo booths.  The wearing of the masks originated from the early Mardi Gras celebrations hundreds of years ago.  The masks were worn to allow people to mingle with whomever they so choose regardless of their social class.

In New Orleans the float riders are required by law to wear masks so make sure you follow the tradition at your party and require guests to wear their photo booth prop masks to uphold the tradition.  Fine tune your trivia skills so you are ready to rock the party.  Mardi Gras means fat Tuesday in French which is always the day before Ash Wednesday.

It’s a day when people let go and indulge in anything and everything they want in preparation for the beginning of lent whih for Christians requires a fasting period as well as giving up something special that they enjoy so Fat Tuesday is officially the last hurrah!

Another must have for your photo booth and party are beads!  The throwing of the beads was created in 1872 by the king of the first daytime Carnival and the idea was to toss the color to the person who exhibited that colors meaning.  The royal colors were selected as follows:

Purple- for justice

Gold- for power

Green- for faith

While the meaning behind the beads and the traditions may have gotten a bit skewed over the years one thing still stands true Fat Tuesday is a time to celebrate and indulge with food and cocktails!  So what’s on the menu for today?

These southern shrimp cocktails will have you celebrating in style.  Get the recipe over at Southern Living.

Mini muffalettas are a must!  The muffuletta is a very popular sub-style sandwich that originated among the Italian immigrants in New Orleans.  You can find these sandwiches all over there from delis to the pool halls.  They are filled with Italian salami, olive salad, of course garlic (they’re Italian), cheese, and Italian ham.  They MUST be served at room temperature and it is considered a major faux pas to heat one.

You can get the recipe for these delicious looking mini mufelettas over at My Recipes.  Let us know how they turn out and be sure to get a few pictures of them in the photo booth!

Mmmm the hurricane!  According to TwinCities it is THE drink of Mardi Gras and is about as New Orleans as they come.  Sounds like the perfect cocktail for your photo booth Fat Tuesday party!  It’s got both light and dark rum, passion fruit juice, orange juice, lime juice, simple syrup, grenadine, and an orange slice and cherry for garnish.  Sounds divine.

From everyone here at Photo Booth of the Stars we hope you have a safe and spectacular Fat Tuesday!  Be sure to share you photo booth strip images with us so we can see what a blast you and your guests had in the photo booth rental.
