A subtle way to bring on the green is by using out door elements indoors.  For those of you florists or if you have a green thumb little pots of planted green herbs are great ways to introduce the green theme to your party without being over the top.

One of the best ways to decorate is to shop at your home.  Look around and use what you already have.  You’d be surprised what you can do with a little creativity.  Take those white or neutral colored candles or vases you have laying around the house and wrap a festive green bow around it.  No need to go out and buy a bunch of new green décor.  Just use what you have and incorporate different festive elements to it.

Guiness, Baileys, and green beer are true St. Patrick ’s Day cocktail staples.  Here are just a few cocktails you can enjoy at your cocktail hour.

Ever heard of One Irland?

–        4 parts irish whiskey

–        1 part green crème de menthe

–        Small scoop vanilla ice cream

Put all of the ingredients into a blender, blend until smooth and then serve it up in a martini glass.  MMm!  Sounds delish!

We found this fancy cocktail at Cosmopolitan and it is claimed to be one of the best cocktails to sip on St. Patrick’s day.

2 oz. Pinot Grigio

4 cucumber chunks

5 mint leaves

¾ oz. lime juice

¾ oz. simple syrup

1 oz. soda water

3 mint sprigs and a cucumber slice for garnish

Sounds refreshingly delicious and a must have at your event!

Don’t forget about the kiddos.
